I'm Phil Yau's brother (9' longboard - you'll know him if you click the link I've sent!) and friend of Claire Leonard ( - the one who never goes in the water when its a little bit cold)

thanks for your kind words.

That picture is one of my favourite surf photos I've taken in a long time.

Sadly, as a professional photographer I can't just give my photos away for some beers - It is my livelihood after all, i'm sure you will appreciate that you wouldn't pay a car mechanic with beers? (wouldn't that be good!!)

I really don't wish to sound rude - but sadly with the onslaught of digital photography it seems 'everybody can take a photograph' - I'm sure you agree that this is not the case and when it comes to recognising professional photographs and the skills involved in producing those beautiful images go way beyond any 'snap'.

I will gladly produce a print / many prints for your use - my prices are fair, it allows you to receive a product that NO-ONE else has and is personal to you - it also allows me to pay a little way towards my mortgage, my fuel to the surf breaks and the ridiculously expensive camera equipment (the lens used for this shot can cost up to £6000) - it would not have been possible without it.
